Management Board of PKO Bank Hipoteczny

  • A lawyer and effective manager with experience in banking and the capital market. He holds a Master's degree in law from the University of Lodz. He has been involved in banking since 1993.

    He gained his initial experience working in a bank branch, and in subsequent years, climbed the career ladder in various institutions and areas, eventually serving on management and supervisory boards of banks (Nordea Bank Polska S.A., PKO BP S.A., FM Bank PBP S.A., Plus Bank S.A.).

    He has experience managing change processes in companies. He has created and implemented product and sales strategies in banking. He has been involved in the restructuring, creation, and management of shared service centers. He has participated in M&A and IPO projects and possesses management skills enabling him to prepare and implement business strategies that result in the development of managed companies. He is effective in managing large teams and large budgets.

    Among his greatest professional achievements, he lists:

    • leading the share capital increase at PKO BP S.A. in 2009 by over PLN 5.2 billion, responsible for this process as Acting President of the Management Board, 
    • creating the first virtual bank in Poland (mBank) and launching the MultiBank branch network (managing the business portion of the project, developing the product offering and Financial Services Center model, and utilizing the internet as a distribution and customer service channel), 
    • successfully completing the IPO of Polski Holding Nieruchomości S.A. in February 2013 (issue value: PLN 238.6 million).

      He is currently a member of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee of TOYA S.A. based in Wrocław.
      He has served on the Supervisory Board of TOYA S.A. since 2017.
  • She has been involved in the financial market for 26 years. Since 2012, she has served as Director of the Risk Center at PKO Bank Polski, and subsequently as Director of the Internal Audit Department.

    She has participated in numerous projects, including the project to establish PKO Bank Hipoteczny (Polish Mortgage Bank) and a project aimed at creating an audit model based on a continuous risk assessment methodology and control mechanisms using statistical methods and artificial intelligence. She was responsible for implementing new processes, including solutions utilizing statistical methods and robotics.

    She has extensive managerial experience. She has held numerous management positions in financial market institutions, including as Director of Risk Departments. As a Manager at E&Y, she implemented projects for entities in the financial sector. She is a long-time member of Risk Committees.

    She also served as a member of the Supervisory Board of the Credit Information Bureau (BIK). She has completed numerous training courses both in Poland and abroad.

    She holds a Master's degree in Economics from the Warsaw School of Economics, majoring in Finance and Banking, and a Master's degree in Law from the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw. She is a graduate of the Executive MBA Program at Aalto University.

  • Piotr Kochanek is a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics at the Silesian University of Technology. He gained professional experience working at Bank BPH, DnB Nord Polska, Allianz Bank Polska, and Nordea Bank Polska.

    Since 2014, he has been associated with PKO Bank Hipoteczny, where, as Office Director, he was responsible for, among other things, creating a comprehensive risk management system and capital adequacy for the bank, developing a management information system in the risk area, and managing the receivables transfer project from PKO Bank Polski to PKO Bank Hipoteczny.

    He is a leading specialist in the measurement and analysis of financial risk in banking operations.

  • A graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Warsaw, he is a legal advisor and a graduate of British law studies at the University of Cambridge and IESE Business School.

    From 1997 to 2004, he worked at the Polish Securities and Exchange Commission (Krajowy Depozyt Papierów Wartościowych S.A.), holding positions ranging from Assistant Secretary to Chairman's Counselor and Commission Spokesperson. From 2004 to 2006, he served as Advisor to the Minister, Head of the Minister's Cabinet, and then Deputy Minister of the State Treasury. From 2006 to 2009, he served as Vice-President of the Management Board of PKO Towarzystwo Funduszy Inwestycyjnych S.A. From 2010 to 2013, he served as Dean of the District Chamber of Legal Advisers in Warsaw. From 2009 to 2024, he served as Vice-President of the Management Board of the National Depository for Securities S.A., where, among other responsibilities, he oversaw and managed the company's financial policy.

    He is currently the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Szpital Praski sp. z o.o. and is a volunteer at the Stare Powązki Foundation, where he serves as Chairman of the Foundation Council.

Supervisory Board of PKO Bank Hipoteczny

  • Since April 2015, he has been associated with the PKO Bank Polski Group, where, as Vice President of the Management Board of PKO Bank Hipoteczny S.A., he was responsible for, among other things, the issuance of covered bonds. During this time, the bank quickly became the largest issuer of covered bonds in the domestic market and also led the largest issues of Polish covered bonds abroad. Since March 2019, he has headed the Finance Division at PKO Bank Polski, where he is responsible for strategic balance sheet management, controlling, and financial oversight of Group companies.

    Previously, he worked at the consulting firm PwC, where he advised financial institutions in Poland and abroad, including on risk management, capital requirements, performance measurement, and the development of mortgage banks, including PKO Bank Hipoteczny.

    Jakub Niesłuchowski graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics with a degree in Finance and Banking. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at IESE Business School, University of Navarra.

  • She holds a PhD in economics. She completed her doctoral studies at the College of Management and Finance of the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) in the field of economics. She is a graduate of the postgraduate studies in credit risk management organized by the SGH. She also completed ACCA Postgraduate Studies in Accounting & Finance organized by the Warsaw University of Technology Business School.

    She has extensive expert experience in banking sector analysis and financial market regulation. She gained professional experience in management positions in the private sector, in controlling and public administration, and in the banking sector – PKO BP. At the Ministry of Finance, she headed the Banking Sector Department, primarily responsible for regulations in the areas of banking law, mortgage loans, covered bonds, non-performing loans, equity bonds, and securitization.

    She has been a member of expert groups at the European Commission, including the NPL Committee and the senior working group on the regulatory treatment of government bonds. She was involved in negotiating EU legal acts related to the financial market. She was responsible, among other things, for negotiating the directive on the issue of covered bonds and public supervision of covered bonds, and then the draft amendment to the Act on covered bonds and mortgage banks.

    From November 2017 to September 2021, she served as Deputy Chair of the Examination Committee for Mortgage Loan Intermediaries at the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. In 2019-2020, she served as an observer on the Supervisory Committee of GPW Benchmark S.A. for WIBOR/WIBID benchmarks. From March 2022 to January 2024, she served as a member of the Supervisory Board and Audit Committee of Polski Gaz TUW. She currently serves as Deputy Director of the Economic Analysis Department at the Ministry of State Assets. She is primarily responsible for economic and financial analyses of companies and the banking sector.

    She has completed a number of specialized training courses in international financial reporting standards, company valuation, derivatives, and an investment advisor course.

  • An economist, he has been associated with the University of Białystok from the beginning of his academic career.

    He is a lecturer at the University of Białystok and a visiting lecturer in Poland and abroad (Belgium, Italy, Hungary, England). He completed a research fellowship at the University of Sussex, Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), Brighton (England). He is the author of over 70 publications in the field of economics.

    He has participated (as an expert and manager) in numerous research and implementation projects at the regional level (including the Regional Innovation Strategy and e-Sudovia), national level (including TR@NSPOD - Podlaskie Partnership for Development; E-Podlaskie - Directions for the Development of the Information Society of the Podlaskie Voivodeship), and international level (including Industry as a Stimulator of Technology Transfer for NATO, VBN InnoReg, REDIS, U-Know), covering issues related to economic development, innovation, and technology transfer. He has authored numerous expert opinions in this field and conducted feasibility studies and economic analyses for domestic and international projects for institutions and businesses.

    He has experience in corporate governance: he served as a member of the supervisory boards of PGE Dystrybucja Białystok (2009-10), PKS Białystok (2011-14), and Radio Białystok (2014-16).

    He is a member of the scientific council of the Polish Economic Society and the Mises Institute.

    He has management experience: from 2005 to 2012, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management at the University of Białystok, and since 2016, he has served as Rector of the University of Białystok.

    Lucyna Kopińska graduated with a degree in economics from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Throughout her career, she has completed numerous postgraduate studies and training courses in finance, financial analysis, and management, including management accounting at the Poznań University of Economics and a Master of Business Administration program at the WSB University in Gdańsk.

    She began her professional career in 1991 as Head of the Operations and Cash and Treasury Department at Bank Spółdzielczy in Bydgoszcz. From 1994 to 2001, she worked at Bank Handlowy in Warsaw as Customer Service Manager and Head of the Bank Accounts Department. From 2001 to 2007, she assumed the position of Director of the Northern Regional Office of the Transaction Banking Products Sales Department at Citibank Handlowy in Warsaw. Since 2007, she has been employed at PKO Bank Polski S.A. As Regional Director of Retail Banking in Bydgoszcz, she is responsible for: financial results and efficiency, the Bank's strategy, financial and economic situation, external and internal communications, managing the employment structure and personnel budget, marketing and promotional image, and initiating and shaping change. In her region, she manages 1,215 employees across the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship and parts of the Pomeranian, Masovian, Warmian-Masurian, and Greater Poland Voivodeships. Throughout her career, she has gained expertise in human resources management.

    In her current position as Regional Director of Retail Banking, she manages talent to ensure that the Bydgoszcz region annually ranks among the top three in Poland.

    Ms. Lucyna Kopińska has long supported the development of culture, art, science, and sports in the region. She collaborates with universities such as Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Casimir the Great University in Bydgoszcz, the WSB University in Bydgoszcz, and the WSB University in Warsaw. She supports design work and provides substantive feedback during the creation of projects. Study plans for economics students, lectures for early childhood education students on economics for the youngest, and the implementation of the school savings bank program in schools. Her many years of commitment and experience were recognized by the academic community of Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, which appointed Lucyna Kopińska as Chair of the University Council for the first term of office for 2019-2020.
     

  • For over a decade, he has served as Director of the Banking Risk Division, responsible for managing credit, market, liquidity, operational, and capital adequacy risks. Consistently pursuing strategic risk mitigation goals, he has implemented a number of projects to improve risk management processes, particularly credit risk, enabling the proper targeting of customer needs and increased profitability while maintaining acceptable risk levels. He has managed separate units and led and participated in numerous projects covering various areas of banking.

    He is a member of key decision-making committees at PKO Bank Polski, including the Credit Committee, the Asset and Liability Management Committee, and the Sustainable Development Committee.

    In 2018, he passed the state examination for candidates for supervisory board members. He currently serves on the supervisory boards of PKO Leasing S.A., PKO TU S.A., PKO Życie TU S.A., and PKO BH S.A., and previously also of PKO Faktoring S.A. and PKO TFI S.A. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Sociology at the University of Lodz, the Warsaw School of Economics, and the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He holds a Professional Risk Manager (PRM) degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
